App Connect beta errors

I’ve bravely decided to try the new app connect features in my project. Decided to reverse that idea and unfortunately I’m not forced to continue with it to get a workable build - there’s been a new attribute added in the base component class, called ‘direction’, that’s not playing or reverting as it should. My main project page is throwing 1,000+ errors unless I build with the new unsafe features…
