App Structure folders collapse on save

Hi, I don’t use the app structure and the properties panel much. I prefer to do the basic layout stuff manually but when I do want to test something using these panels, every time I save what I’ve done, the app structure collapses and I have to re-open folder after folder to get back to where I was.

Is this normal or is there some way I can save what I’ve done without collapsing the app structure? TIA
