Theme Manager with Bootstrap 5 not working

What do you think should happen?

Changing a simple color should be reflected on my website.

Actual behavior

What actually happens?

When I follow these two tutorials to customize my theme, it’s not working, I still see the default colors everywhere:

How to reproduce

Change a color, the body_bg color for example.
