Having the ability to quickly spin up a mobile app to sort an automation issue or to create a clever marketing app has always been the missing link working with clients and helping them scale their businesses.
Going pure native for these kind of apps is not an option due to the costs involved and extended build cycles and not to mention having to run three teams (iOS, Android and Web).
There is of course platfroms like React, Ionic and Vue. But any developer that have worked with these know the amount of time lost with compiling and the horrendious debug cycle. Plus the developers who work on these platforms have no clue about the importance of design and UX.
Next we have frameworks like React Native and Framework 7. RN suffers from the same (and then some) issues of its bigger cousin React. Framework 7 is just horrible and it takes hours to get a simple alignment right on diffenent devices. With both of them if you need a PWA that has to run in PC sizing you are screwed. You need again get a web team to build a PC version. 2 teams.
This is where Wappler just moved to the top spot. The ability to quickly spin up an all round app using the power of Appconnect in the front end and for routing while doing pixel perfect layout for all screen sizes using Bootstrap 5. In one go you have creates an PWA you can drop to mobile easily. Add on top of that the simplicity of ServerConnect and you now only need a designer with some technical know how to create app in days rather that the usual 3 - 6 weeks cycles.
For an agency that deals with business growth through marketing and automation Wappler has now rolled up and become a vital tool and not just a nice to have.
One of my developers have just spun up a frontend with login and 3 reports for a manufacturing client of our in less than 4 hours and that includes dropping to Android via Cordova. Method: Pulled a ServerConnect framework we have previously created to connect to MongoDB, added a connection to Airtable. Pulled a predifined Bootstrap 5 layout we bought a few weeks back. Added AppConnect and using the new AC router enable navigation, deleted non needed template pages. Hooked in D3 and done. Pushed to online host. Sent Telegram to client. Client approved with one small change. Compliled down to Android and sent apk to client’s IT team.
To the Wappler team great work and enjoy you well earned summer break.
