Adding two columns together in a table

I know this is probably really basic stuff

Is it possible to add column A to column B in a table repeat and output as a new column
I have tried this
td dmx-text="(A + B)"
but it outputs both figures side by side rather than adding them together.
Both fields are set as decimal format (should this be something different?
Please help I would really appreciate it!
