How Do I Set and Test a Local Variable in a Flow?

So I’m in a flow and I just want to set and test a local variable.

What am I best to do that with?

I’ve tried using Assign, but I cannot find the variable I created with it to select in a condition later on…

Any pointers in the right direction would be great!
